Day 204 - 03/04/2014 : La Baells reservoir

Just below the High Pyrenees the Catalan reservoirs store water to provide all the country during the year and above all during the summer, when the waste of water increases.

Baells is the reservoir belonging to LLobregat river and located in Berguedà shire. The dam is under the control of Cercs village and it can be visited from Tuesday to Friday whenever a book was arranged.

The construction of the reservoir brought about some impact in the shire, with the disappearance of Sant Salvador de la Vadella and Baells towns.

We can obtain good panoramic views from the reservoir and the surroundings, for example from Cercs as the picture shown.
