Day 107 - 27/12/2013 : Can Serrat

This is the house of one of our best friends, Ramonchi.

The house is located in Torrelles de Foix, a stunning town in Alt Penedes shire. Torrelles is surrounded by a great number of vineyards, due to the wine tradition of this shire.

We like to visit Ramon sometimes to see how he progresses with the construction of their gate, he is built it stone by stone, collecting them from the ground of their house, he is a truly work men !!!

We are talking with Ramon to have a big party when the gate was finished, it will be a very special event !

Come on Ramonchi, come on !!!

Day 106 - 26/12/2013 : Litle waterfall in Gualba park

Coming back to the services area from the 'Mirador del Salt de Gualba' you should follow the walk path near the river (in Catalonia we call this little rivers as 'riera') to discover a beautiful forest plenty of trees changing their color in autumn or stunning waterfalls.

After you finish this lovely excursion within the park you will fell hungry, what about a barbecue?

You will be able to do by yourself, the park has a lot of services and a place to cook with fire without danger to the nature.

Day 105 - 25/12/2013 : Mirador del Salt de Gualba

If we continue walking by the path on the east of Gualba Park, you will arrive to the site of 'Mirador del Salt de Gualba'.

This is a waterfall created in the reservoir of Santa Fe (within the most visited places of Montseny Natural Park) and we reach it in Gualba Park following the 'Cami dels Esquirols' path. It's take 1 hour from the Service area.

The waterfall has 100m height and the best time to see it is spring season, with the water floods fast because the reservoir will be plenty.

Day 104 - 24/12/2013 : Wild pig in Gualba Park

In Gualba park you will be able to see local fauna as the wild pigs you will found in the walk path to 'Mirador del Salt de Gualba'.

These pigs looks fine, it seems they have been looking after carefully, with good food and beverage. They screamed a lot and the children were a little scared.

Will we see them again when the park reopens? A question to discover...

Day 103 - 23/12/2013 : Gualba Park

This natural park has belonged during almost 40 years to RACC (Reial Automobil Club de Catalunya) but due to economic problems was closed in may.

Now the total surface of the park has been transferred to Gualba council with the goal to reopen the park as soon as possible.

During decades Gualba has been considered one of the symbols of Montseny because the amount of services the park gave, from a lot of space for children leisure to pools in summer, giving the possibility to have barbecues or stay in a camping in the early 90s.

We hope we can enjoy again of this nature place !!!

Day 102 - 22/12/2013 : Civic

Isn't a normal car, he is 'The Car'.

This red bullet has run the Catalonia roads since 2009, it's certain that so many tips have been collected but the sensation of power deserves that.

In this picture our Civic looks fantastic, it was shining but it's normal, he has just started to run. Now, Civic has run more than 100.000 kilometers, visiting beaches, climbing mountains, crossing borders... and there is a plan to change the owner, specifically to a flying Murcia woman ;-)

Some plans to visit Europe with 'The Car' have been called out due to other trip holidays (for example in 2010 we changed by an unforgettable trip to Chile... Europe is easily reached, isn't?)

Will Civic travel around Europe in the future?

Day 101 - 21/12/2013 : Frare Blanc

This beautiful building is known as Casa Roviralta and is located in Av.Tibidabo 31, in S.Gervasi district between exit 6 and exit 7 from Ronda de Dalt.

It's a house designed by the architect Joan Rubió i Bellvé and it was built between 1903 and 1913. But, what's up with this house? There are a lot of beautiful houses in Barcelona and more famous than this.

The reason to their appearance is to be the place where 'Asador de Aranda' has the main restaurant in Barcelona. Do you like meat? Would you like to taste 'lechazo'? If the answer is Yes-Yes (remember please this choice ;-) you are being late to call and make a reservation.

Superb !!!!

Day 100 - 20/12/2013 : Tibidabo at night

Uoooohhh !!!! The first 100 days have come !!!!

Today with us the magical mountain of Barcelona, Tibidabo !! In fact, you are seeing the 'Sagrat Cor' temple, but Tibidado is much more.

This mountain located in Collserola range has 518m height, it brings the best views from Barcelona and is one of the most visited places for leisure in Barcelona. There is a amusement park too.

You can reach the top of the mountain by road (Carretera Arrabassada from Ronda de Dalt) or by funicular, both of them are enjoyable because by road you can stop wherever you want to see the magnificent views of the city.

Come on !!!

Day 99 - 19/12/2013 : Mora d'Ebre

Today we are jumping to Ribera d'Ebre shire in Tarragona to visit their main town : Mora D'Ebre.

The sun is close to sunrise and we were close to leave the town to see the Rally RACC but we were able to take this picture from the river walk, this is the bridge 'Pont d'Arcades', the main entrance to the village.

Mora has 6000 inhabitants and it's located in the center of Tarragona province on the west of Natural Parc Serra del Montsant.

The town has some attractive sights also the bridge, for example the lookout from the old castle. If you want to enjoy with Rally RACC is a good place to sleep.

Day 98 - 17/12/2013 : Sant Pol, Les Escaletes beach

Here the best beach from Sant Pol : Les Escaletes.

This beach is located on the east side of the town and turning on the left by the sea walk. Isn't a large beach but it's clean, comfortable and not too much busy even in high summer.

The name of the beach is originated from the method to access it : go down by a little stairs ('escaletes' in catalan).

It's worth to stay a morning or even better, a evening seeing the sunset.

Day 97 - 16/12/2013 : Sant Pol beaches from the 'Espigó'

The two main beaches in Sant Pol are splited up with a amount of rocks that allow a magnificent view of the seaside and the beaches if you try to arrive on the edge.

On the left side you will see the old beach, with the fishermen ships, on the left side the new area, with some building on the seafront but with a stunning and clean beach.

After the flat building we'll find one the most known 'txiringos' in Maresme shire, 'Baños Luis'.

Sant Pol deserves to spend a weekend at least to be visited !

Day 96 - 15/12/2013 :Sant Pol, 'Platja de Pescador'

Let's continue with some sights from Sant Pol de Mar, here their main beach, it's called 'Platja de Pescador'.

It's just the beach you can see when entering from the train, you should need to leave the station to enter on the beach and enjoy a pleasant sunny day.

On the left hand of the beach there are some little boats from the fishermen of the village and just besides the 'Voramar' restaurant, the best of the seaside.

Come in, come in !!!

Day 95 - 14/12/2013 : Sant Pol de Mar, beautiful tower

Come on, today we are going to know a little and beautiful town from Maresme shire, we are talking about Sant Pol de Mar.

Sant Pol is in fact one of the last towns in Maresme, we can arrive using the C-1 line of 'Rodalies' and we'll take 1 hour from Barcelona center.

Nowadays, Sant Pol has 4.000 inhabitants and it's mostly know from the great gastronomy offer including the best restaurant of one of the best Catalonian chiefs, Carme Ruscalleda. The restaurant is called 'Sant Pau', you must make a reservation and ask for the prices before to go.

The town is so beautiful with narrow streets and white houses but in the sea walk you can see great houses as the picture shows.

Then, another place to visit !

Day 94 - 13/12/2013 : Mediterranean food !!!

Whenever you go to a sea town you must to have a rest and taste the best of Mediterranean dishes. In summer is usual to eat in 'txiringos' the different choices of seafood avalaible.

We recommend to taste 'peixets fregits', 'musclos' or the best anchovies in the World : 'anxoves de l'Escala'.

The problem is the crowd, be careful to make a reservation if you want to avoid some queue or even not have place to lunch.

Delicious !!!

Day 93 - 12/12/2013 : Water Rally !

In summer is common to find a great number of ships doing rallies in Costa Brava near from the cliffs.

Go shipping is a very popular leisure activity in Catalonia, our east side is covered by the sea therefore there area a lot of people that owns boats and news companies have been created giving the possibility to rent it and take a trip into the sea.

You need to have an accreditation to drive the boats, it's called as 'Titulin' or 'Patron de Embarcacion Menor - PEM'.

We are going to achieve in the following years, our destiny is the sea.

Would you like to come with us in our first boat ship??? It will be funny.

Day 92 - 11/12/2013 : The best beach from Tossa !!!

Es Codolar is beautiful from any angle.

The previous days we saw different stunning view the 'Camins de Ronda' and today we can see the beach form the walls.

A perfect summer day, not too much hot, with a warm wing to enjoy the beach as much as possible. The view from the Mediterranean, losing the horizon, is the final contrast of this portrait.

Here, the best beach of Costa Brava south !

Day 91 - 10/12/2013 : Es Codolar beach inviting to jump !

It was really a intention to jump !!!!

The rough cliffs seen coming back to Tossa from the South invite us to jump into the sea to taste the fresh and colorful waters.

Es Codolar beach is a explosion of beauty, it's a quite beach within the beginning of the Costa Brava range, you shouldn't forgot to visit if you are coming to this area.

Day 90 - 09/12/2013 : Turning back to Es Codolar

This picture is one of the best we have from Tossa and their surroundings.

We turned back to the town from the 'Cami de Ronda d'en Cars' when we found this fantastic view : on the left the walls from old town, below that Es Codolar beach, on the right the castle surroundings.

Undoubtedly, the best of the view is the contrast between mountain and the clean water of the beach, really lovely !

Day 89 - 08/12/2013 : Stairs to heaven

The coastal line and 'Camins de Ronda' from Tossa are really fantastic.

Definitely, it's one of the most preferred villages in Costa Brava for us. You can lie in the beaches to take a pleasant and sunny journey and you can take a walk to see impressive view.

Here we are in the stairs going down to Es Codolar cave to take some fresh drink after a steeped walk in the 'Cami de Ronda'.

Look down to sea the turquoise color of the sea, lovely !!!

Day 88 - 07/12/2013 : Rough rocks and clean waters

It's a stunning thing to take a walk using the 'Camins de Ronda' that border all the coast line in Costa Brava.

Undoubtedly you won't finish to take pictures, on the north, on the south you will find everything enjoyable and unforgettable.

Clean waters and rough cliffs will be below you eyes. The best area to see cliffs is the central Costa Brava, from Sant Feliu de Guixols to Begur.

Be careful being on the ledge !!!

Day 87 - 06/12/2013 : Costa Brava cliffs

The coastal sea side bring us truly and fantastic landscapes when the sea joins with the rocks.

Costa Brava is plenty of beautiful cliffs, it's possible not as spectacular as Ireland cliffs for example, but however stunning, amazing and better to see due to the best weather.

Normally, the cliffs in Costa Brava are steeped and rough as the picture of today shows. These cliffs owns to the 'Cami de Ronda d'es Cars' in Tossa de Mar.

Day 86 - 05/12/2013 : Foggy summer morning !!!

There was a curious weather phenomenon was observed in a stunning morning around Tossa de Mar. We begun to walk by the 'Cami de Ronda d'es Cars' and when we were at the top we could see a big piece of the cost covered by frog.

The view with the mountain, the sun, the beaches and the frog is amazing. 

The frog might appear after few days of high temperatures causing a warming of the sea temperature and the creation of this banks of frog.

Anyway, here is other stunning view from Catalonia !

Day 85 - 04/12/2013 : Clean waters at the morning !

You won't realize where these clear waters come from? It's from Lloret de Mar. Are you kidding us? Not, absolutely not.

The water in all Costa Brava beached are used to being very clean, and a little cold.., during all the year, but specially in the summer season.

This picture was taken from a boat excursion from Blanes to Tossa, when we'll stay a few days more.

Day 84 - 03/12/2013 : The main beach of Tossa (Platja Gran) from the Mirador

We would like to stay in the 'Mirador' of Tossa all our life. The views of the Mediterranean sea and the whole town are unforgettable.

This picture shows the big beach of the town spreading from the north to the south, this beach is known as 'Platja Gran'.

Do you feel the sensation to turn back when you are leaving the Mirador??

Day 83 - 02/12/2013 : Downtonw from Tossa

We can't leave from Mirador of Tossa. Now we are looking at downtown.

We see in the center of the picture the magnificent church of St.Vicenç, a neoclassic example. On the right hand we see the downtown and the castle with a different color tonality than the rest of the town (the new Tossa).

We can see two characteristic element of Tossa. Could you recognize them?

Day 82 - 01/12/2013 : Summer in Tossa

What do you think about this view from Tossa? It's taken from the 'Mirador' and it's really spectacular with all the town from the north (big hotels) to the south (castle).

Undoubtedly, Tossa is one of our preferred towns for summer, isn't so crowed as others Costa Brava towns, it have clean beaches and a good gastronomy offer.

Day 81 - 30/11/2013 : Vilassar Beach

And 2009 arrived !! We saw the 2-6 in Madrit, we saw how Barça conquered the World winning all the possible championships, we saw Scotland too.

And above all, we saw the biggest beach ever in Vilassar. That year the council spent some millions of euro to bring sand wherever they could, and bring us a fantastic beach all the summer season.

The problem was the same all years : when the first storm came, the sand disappeared.

The sea will ever recover their owns !!!
