Day 56 - 05/11/2013 : Barcelona from Sarrià lookout

What about some picture from the main city on Catalonia? We don't like big cities and we can say we  wouldn't like to live in Barcelona.

But it's fair to recognize that we've a beautiful capital with sea and mountains, with life and peace, and with a number of interesting places to visit.

One of the best views from Barcelona can be taken in the road to Vallvidrera, known as 'Carretera de les Aigues'. Once you've finished to drive into Barcelona you will a climb and you will get the Sarrià lookout.

Seat and admire !

Day 55 - 04/11/2013 : Coll de Josa

Leaving Gósol and continuing on the B-400 road to the northwest we'll begin to climb the 'Coll de Josa', the mountain pass that connects Bergueda and Alt Urgell shires.

From the lookout viewpoint of the Coll you will see a fantastic view of Gósol and their surroundings, if there were snow the view will be so magnificent.

After passing the top of the Coll you will enter in Alt Urgell shire following the Tuixent road.

Greats mountains in Catalonia !

Day 54 - 03/11/2013 : Crema Catalana (Catalan cream)

And finally the dessert. And what's the most delicious catalan dessert? Undoubtedly, the 'crema catalana'.

This sweet dessert is made with a base of eggs having their surface covered by a thin portion of burned sugar.

Breaking out carefully the thin surface of sugar is a challenge to eaters. Is typical to serve a little warm, the sensation in your mouth will be unforgettable.

Anyone knows something more delicious?

Day 53 - 02/11/2013 : Xuleta (chop)

At the same restaurant in Gósol we talked yesterday, we were been able to taste impressive main dishes as the chop shown in the picture.

The meat is other of the tops from the catalan gastronomy and we think that in the mountain shires you might find the best meat dishes.

Normally, a great piece of meat is complemented with some sides as boiled potato, tomato or grilled artichokes.

Enjoy your meal !

Day 52 - 01/11/2013 : Cargols (snails)

Let me take a look on the catalan gastronomy.

In Gósol you should taste a sort of typical catalan dishes. In our first visit to this town we were looking for a place where we could eat catalan food.

Some people had talk to us about the great quality of catalan dishes in Gósol, and they weren't wrong. In 'El Forn' restaurant we could taste the best snails we've ever tasted.

They were cooked with pepper and salt and surrounded of little pieces of meat and you had the choice to eat them with 'all i oli', the most known sauce in Catalonia.

They were delicious !!!!

Day 51 - 31/10/2013 : Gosol

We've named Saldes as the main town in Pedraforca range, but there is another relevant and stunning town on the west side of Pedraforca following the B-400 road: Gósol.

Gósol belongs to Bergueda shire too, but in the state of Lleida. It has a population of 250 persons and it's located at 1423 meters above the sea level.

The town is known not only by to be near to Pedraforca, Pablo Piscasso was living in Gósol at the beginning of the 20th century, exactly in 1906.

We found in our first visit a restaurant we'll never forget : 'El Forn' with delicious catalan dishes as you will see in the following days.

Gósol, the west limit of Pedraforca !
