Day 423 - 08/11/2014 : Sant Romà de Sau church

Sau reservoir owns a hidden treasure : Sant Romà church. This reservoir is  located on the Ter river, near Vilanova de Sau and belonging to Osona region.

The dam was completed in 1962, creating a reservoir with a storage capacity of 151.3 hm³ that covered the former town of Sant Romà de Sau.

The Church of Sant Romà is still visible when the water level is low and we were lucky to see it. The dam has a structural height of 83 m and a crest length of 260 m.

We are talking about one of the must-see views in Catalonia with plenty of activities to do around the reservoir, therefore it should be included in your route.

Definitely !
